Smart Girls South Africa is a subsidiary of Smart Girls Uganda, it is a non-profit, female-focused development organization that empowers and educates girls about health, wellness, business and specialized labor encouraging young women to transform their lives and communities. We aim to inspire girls to speak up, make decisions and create visionary change to help them realize their full potential. Our mission is to build self-confidence, self-esteem and self-reliance while tackling issues that girls face in their communities. We reach out to girls and young women nationwide.

Resourceful Training and Mentorship.

We conduct resourceful trainings and mentoring sessions in schools and communities to equip young girls with the ability to be confident and speak out on issues that matter to them. Encouraging aspiring girls to speak out and be decision makers in order to create visionary change and realize their full potential so that they may properly chase their profitable dreams. We reach out to young girls and ladies and build their self-confidence, self-esteem, capabilities, self-reliance and character. Helping them tackle issues that girls face in their personal lives and within society with a goal to keep them in school.

We connect our young girls with women who are experienced in mentoring and counseling to help them achieve their goals.

Girls With Tools Project

The Girls with Tools project hosts hands – on courses for young women looking to be trained in vocational areas considered to be nontraditional for women. These areas include, but are not limited to: machinery, welding, automotive mechanics, electrical engineering, ICT and tailoring. Our girls also get additional workshop trainings that include: entrepreneurship, life skills, gender issues and financial literacy. We partner with local workshops and garages so that we are able to give these girls internships and on-job training to give them experience and inspiration to start up their own business within these sectors. Courses are paid for by the families that can afford them, while scholarships and bursary are provided for the girls that can’t.
